Slow Cooker Asian BBQ Pork #SundaySupper

  • 3 tablespoons tamari sauce
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 21/2 to 3-pound boneless pork shoulder, or rib end
  • ¼ cup water or low sodium organic chicken broth
  • 1½ teaspoons arrowroot powder
  1. Combine the first seven ingredients in a bowl
  2. Add the Pork covering all sides, place in refrigerator and allow to marinate for at least 8 hours
  3. Place pork into slow cooker with the marinade
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours
  5. Remove the pork with a slotted spoon and set aside and keep warm
  6. Add broth to sauce in the slow cooker along with the arrowroot powder and stir with a whisk until
  7. it thickens
  8. Shred the pork with two forks and add to the sauce and serve
