Prepare: Measure the ingredients and set them aside. Chop the jalapeno pepper, coat a skillet or baking dish with olive oil or parchment paper and preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees f.
Place the flour, cornmeal, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bow and whisk them together.
Whisk the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and syrup together in a medium bowl until they are combined.
Add the wet ingredients to the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula. Once the batter is fairly smooth stir in the minced peppers and corn.
Pour the cornbread batter into the prepared baking pan and place it into the preheated air fryer.
Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
