Air Fryer Mushroom Fries

Air fryer mushroom fries are crispy on the outisde and soft on the inside. They are perfect for a healthy appeitzer or side dish!

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces portobello mushroom caps 2 to 3 caps depending on the size
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 teapoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients: Wipe the mushrooms clean with a damp paper towel, remove the stem from the mushroom caps, slice the mushrooms into strips that are similar in size to french fries.
    Measure the oil, bread crumbs, spices and cheese.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees f.
  • Mix the bread crumbs, cheese and spices together in a rimmed plate or shallow bowl.
  • Use a pastry brush to brush oil onto the mushroom pieces.
  • Dredge the oil coated mushroom strips into the bread crumb mixture and toss them around until they are coated in crumbs.
  • Arrange the crumb coated mushroom strips in a single layer onto an air-fryer baking tray or basket.
  • Place the mushroom strips into a preheated air fryer and air fry for 8 minutes at 400 degrees F.

Notes

Serve these tasty mushrooms with a side of your favorite dipping sauce like this sriracha dipping sauce, ranch dressing, onion dip or blue cheese dip.
 
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days in an airtight container.
