Homemade sauces are easy to make and almost always taste better than the premade sauces that you buy in a grocery store.

In this sauce, spicy sriracha sauce is the perfect compliment that adds just enough heat and flavor. It is very similar to sriracha mayo, but with the addition of Greek yogurt which adds protein and a tangy taste.

One of our favorite ways to enjoy this tasty sauce is as a dip for homemade potato chips.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

The complete list of ingredients to make this recipe is above. Below are notes about some of the ingredients, along with ideas for substitutes.

Greek yogurt – Plain Greek yogurt is the best yogurt to use to make this sauce, it’s thicker and creamier than regular yogurt.

Greek yogurt can be substituted with an equal amount of sour cream.

Sriracha sauce – you can use your favorite brand of sriracha sauce, or if you have time, you can always try to make your own sriracha sauce. Here is my recipe for homemade sriracha sauce.

This creamy sriracha dipping sauce tastes great with just about anything. We like to garnish it with chopped green onions and serve it as a dip for fresh-cut veggies, steak fries, french fries, sweet potato fries, chicken wings, chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, avocado fries, and mushroom fries.

This homemade is also a tasty addition to sandwiches, fish tacos, wraps, and burgers.

  • If the sauce is too thick, gradually add water to thin it out.
What is sriracha sauce?

Sriracha sauce is a hot sauce made from fermented red jalapeno peppers, garlic, vinegar, sugar and salt.

Can you substitute sriracha sauce with Frank’s Red Hot?

You can, but the dipping sauce will have a totally different flavor. Frank’s has a more vinegar flavor whereas sriracha sauce has a kick of garlic in it.
