Leftover tips

Even though this is a small batch recipe, if you do have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.

Reheat leftover meatloaf in the oven at 350°F until warm. Leftover slices also work great in sandwiches and salads.

For longer storage, freeze room-temperature cooked meatloaf in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.

Slice the meatloaf before freezing and place in a reusable bag for individual serving sizes.

Recipe variations

Give your meatloaf a delicious twist with these creative suggestions!

  • Meat – Use ground turkey, ground beef or ground pork instead of chicken.
  • Add veggies – Mix in some diced bell peppers or shredded carrots for sweetness and extra nutrients.
  • Cheese – Try cheddar or mozzarella instead of blue cheese.
  • Spice it up – Add cayenne if you want even more heat.
  • Mild – Use less hot sauce and mix in a little barbecue sauce or honey for a sweeter version.
  • Gluten-free – Use gluten-free breadcrumbs as a substitute.
