Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

Pork Loin – Look for a boneless pork loin roast with a pale pink color and with even marbling.

Pork tenderloin or pork chops can be substituted for a pork roast, and cooking time should be adjusted by approximately half.

Soy Sauce – This adds a savory flavor to this recipe. One can substitute an equal amount of tamari sauce, liquid aminos, coconut aminos or Worcestershire sauce for soy sauce.

Apple cider – If it is unavailable, you can substitute it with an equal amount of apple juice.

Garlic – Fresh garlic tastes best, but if it’s not available, you can replace it with a quarter teaspoon of garlic powder.

How to store leftovers

Leftover pork loin can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat it in the oven at 350, on top of the stove over low heat or in the microwave. Leftover pork loin tastes great sliced in sandwiches, wraps on salads, egg roll bowls.
