- Tamari or soy suace
- Tomato paste
- Maple syrup, honey or brown sugar
- Garlic
- Fresh ginger
- Rice wine vinegar

Here is How To Make Slow Cooked Asian Pork
- At least 4 hours before cooking, make the marinade, pour it into a glass bowl that’s large enough to hold the pork.
- Place the pork into the bowl and turn to coat it on all sides. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Transfer the marinated pork and all of the marinade to the slow cooker, cover and cook on low heat for 5 to 6 hours until very tender.
- Shred, the pork and toss in the sauce and serve.




Tips
- Prefer a thicker sauce? Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water. Remove the pork, whisk the slurry into the hot sauce, and simmer until thickened. Add the pork back and toss to coat.
Serving Suggestions
- Sprinkle the pork with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Add a side of stir-fried veggies, like broccoli, zucchini, and bell peppers.
- Serve with steamed rice, brown rice, or cauliflower rice.
- Try it over an Asian slaw for crunch and freshness, or drizzle with hoisin sauce for added sweetness.

- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 to 5 days. Freeze up to 3 months.

Easy Slow Cooker Asian Pork
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons [tamari sauce]
- 3 tablespoons [tomato paste]
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
- 2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 3- pound boneless pork shoulder or rib end
- Sesame seeds for sprinkling
Instructions
- Combine the tamari sauce, rice wine vinegar, tomato paste, garlic, ginger, syrup and sesame oil in a glass or ceramic bowl.
- Add the pork to the bowl and toss making sure all sides are covered with the marinade. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight
- Remove the meat from the bowl and add it to the slow cooker; pour the marinade over the top.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook the pork in the marinade on low for 5 hours.
- Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
- Add the meat back to the slow cooker and toss it in the sauce and serve.
